Baby Patterson Debut!!!

This is my first time blogging about the baby. It is something that I want to do so that the baby and I can look back in a few years and see what life was like. I found out that I was pregnant on September 26, 2008. I went and got the pregnancy test right after work and sure enough it displayed the word "pregnant" on the stick. It was definitely much to our surprise. The funny thing was that my brother, Tim, came over five minutes after we took the test and we were able to keep it a secret until today. It came much to a surprise to everyone.

So far, things have been going well. I have had my HCg levels checked twice and we even had our first sonogram this morning and saw the heartbeat. It was amazing that something so tiny can show life. It was also great to see that there was only one baby. The doctor thought before that I could be having twins.

For the most part, I have felt pretty good. I have been tired and had a little bit of stomach issues, but definitely not to the extent of what I hear that some people experience.

Ok.... Brian really wants a boy and I really would like either. Of course I want a girl at some point, but I loved having older brothers so maybe it would be cool to have a boy first. Either way I will be happy. If it's a boy, the name will be Colten Max and if it's a girl, it will be Ella Brooke. Well, at least that's what I want for a girl. Brian isn't so stuck on Brooke.

I think I almost forgot an important part. The doctor said last week that the baby was due June 3rd, but the sonogram tech said June 5th. I am completely happy with the due date because it's perfect for being a teacher. I plan on taking off from Memorial Day onto the end of the school year. Hopefully we can find a great sitter in the meantime.

I am excited, nervous, happy, and anxious. I hope and pray that everything will work out and that Brian and I will be parents sometime in June (or before)!!!

The baby is the little peanut shaped thing on the left side of the open black area. Today the heart beat was 169 bpm. The technician seemed to think that everything looked good!
